Recently while surfing some scientific web pages, I stumbled upon a very interesting story. It is about an American biologist named Craig Venter who has successfully ‘built’ a synthetic chromosome out of laboratory chemicals. He claims that soon we humans will be able to create an artificial life form in a laboratory.

I found this story interesting and went through its various parameters. This story led to another freaky thought in my mind which has eventually developed into a freaky theory. So here it is:

Let us imagine this scenario, Year 3000. Humans have been able to create life forms. Technology is so advanced that scientists can construct a complete human being in a lab using just chemicals. And an international scientific organization decides to experiment on these life forms. For the experiment, a planet named Planetos (It’s a fictional name) is selected. Being only a light year away from Earth and having a similar atmospheric structure, this planet is ideal for the experiment. And after a lot of efforts by scientists throughout the world, humans have transported various humanoids, along with a large number of other artificial animals to this planet. Perfect calculations have been made to ensure the balance in the ecosystem there. Also high precision laser telescopes have been mounted in several parts of the world to view the surface of the planet Planetos. Thus we are able to view the latest happenings on Planetos. There will be a lag of one year due to the distance between Planetos and Earth. And soon we’ll be able to view the change of the humanoids from unintelligent cave men to that of civilized ones. They might invent things that humans haven’t even thought of. It will be an interesting proposition to see the development of this humanoids.

Now the above extract seems like a perfect start to a sci-fi novel or movie. But this is not the freaky thought that came to my mind.

We know very few things of our past. Historians have mainly relied on old books, poetic works, sculptures, paintings on historic buildings, fossils, passage of word by mouth, etc. to know our past. Rest of the work has been constructed by theories put forward by various scientists on evolution. Theoretically speaking we do not have a cent percent proof of the evolution of man on Earth.

So, for the sake of argument let us imagine ourselves in the place of the humanoids on planet Planetos. This means that we are nothing but artificial life forms created by another supreme being which is more advanced and powerful than us. We are just a bunch of guinea pigs or crash dummies, whose every detail are monitored by these alien beings for the sake of new advancements in science. Thus, the complete theory of evolution might be just induced into our minds.

But of course this results in a series of questions:

Are we really natural, or some artificial testing products?

Are the various calamities that we humans suffer real or experiments being performed on us?

If yes then who are these alien beings, and why haven’t they contacted us yet?

Are they a threat to us, or we to them?

Are they really advanced, or are we more advanced being products of a series of refinements?

Are the various news of UFOs visiting Earth really a form of communication between them and us?

There are many questions which arise. Also there is always a possibility for this theory to be true. If the alien beings are smart they may surely be waiting for the right moment of disclosing this to us.
